Painting with Dirt...

What, another update so soon!?! Yes, folks, it is, and one in actual physical get-messy paints to boot!

Anyhoo, found myself doing a quick floral study the other day, and felt like sharing. I came away with two paramount realizations: 1). Acrylics are not my strong suit, and 2). Real paints require drying time...

Thanks!

  2. Jeff!

    Thanks!

'Tis always a pleasure when a talent such as yours comes gracing my humble blog :) I definitely should have taken a better scan of that "painting," but "thems" the breaks. For future "real" paintings I think I might try using printable canvas so I can do the initial paints digitally and use the actual ones for finishing. Stuff's pricey though.

  3. Come back from the Darkside, Mu! *grabs Mu and drags him back over to Team Oils*

I've recently started experimenting with acrylics. I mostly hate them. :(

Oh, they're not so bad, just different. Take a gander at Ralph Horsley's acrylics and be amazed...I know I continuously am!

  5. Yeah tackling real paints is interesting. I started with acrylics then switched over to oils. Both mediums are pretty fun though. Flowers either or are hard!
